There’s already the technology available to fix the problem of nasty bacteria on leafy greens; it’s the same one used on the ground beef that’s safe to cook lightly; irradiation. If vegetables were irradiated before being placed on grocery store shelves, no one would be killed by E coli on their spinach greens. Unless they used reusable grocery bags to carry it home, that is.
