Higher Education Racket

Megan McArdle discusses the problems of supply and demand as applied to graduate studies; I found this quote of hers quite interesting: “[A]cademics tend to describe the job market as an improbably Dickensian welter of exploitation, a description which matches only one job market: their own.”

Well, at least in this area, unlike in others, their ideology-driven Marxist drivel actually matches up with some tiny sliver of reality! Self-fulfilling prophecy, perhaps?
